
Maarten Koningsberger
The Dutch baritone Maarten Koningsberger
has appeared in opera¹s from Monteverdi to Mozart to Menotti. This wide
range of styles is also reflected in his recitals, with pianists as Graham
Johnson and Rudolf Jansen or with lutenist Fred Jacobs . He is a regular
guest at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw as well as in many other mayor
concerthalls. His concert
tours include Europe, South Africa, the Far East, Israel and Canada, and are
always highly acclaimed by the press. He has been invited by Festivals all
over the world. Maarten Koningsberger has sung with orchestras such as the
Concertgebouw Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment,
Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, Les Arts Florissants, Tafelmusic and the
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under conductors such as Ton Koopman,
William Christie, Richard Egarr, Gustav Leonhardt, Marin Alsop, Arnold
Östman, Gennady Roshdensvensky, Jaap van Sweeden and Jeffrey Tate.
His numerous CD-recordings include lute- and consortsongs (Byrd, Dowland),
Baroque Cantates (Campras, Van Blankenburg, Charpentier), Lieder (a.o. the
'Hyperion Schubert Edition') and Mélodies (Fauré, Milhaud), opera and
oratorio (a.o. ŒLes Grands Motets de Mondonville¹ with Les Arts
Florissants).
Recently Schuberts WINTERREISE and DIE SCHÖNE MÜLLERIN were released on Cd.
Maarten Koningsberger teaches at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music and the
Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles and gives masterclasses all over the
world.
